When a client approached us to rework a 120m² 1960s mid-century apartment, our goal was to create a design that would support their aesthetic while offering a sustainable inner-city alternative to their large family home. The renovation, for a couple looking to downsize and reduce their carbon footprint, sought a spacious feel and uncompromised quality in a location within walking distance to work.
The design features terrazzo tiles in the living areas, custom-made silk carpets for the bedroom and study, brass details on skirtings and bookshelves, and felt-lined joinery fronts. Custom granite tiles and sink enhance the space, demonstrating that quality living isn’t determined by size.
